Moraima A. Ivory A native New Yorker, Moraima grew up in the Bronx, New York and attended Spelman College. After graduating from Spelman College in 1991, Moraima attended Temple University School of Law and earned her law degree. She began her legal career at the law firm of Montgomery, McCracken, Walker & Rhoads in Philadelphia as an Entertainment Attorney. She then moved to Atlanta where she practiced at the law firm of King & Spalding and served as in-house counsel for Scientific-Atlanta, Inc. In between her positions in law, Moraima hosted two morning radio shows in Philadelphia for a local CBS radio station and 103.9FM, owned by Radio One Broadcasting. In 2001, after being deeply affected by the tragic events of September 11th and understanding the brevity of life, Moraima resigned from Scientific-Atlanta and opened a consignment shop in Lawrenceville, Georgia called "Janie's Closet," named for her daughter Janie, in order to spend more time with her family. In 2002, Ivory Properties, LLC was born. Ivory Properties builds newly constructed single family homes in the Hapeville, Egan Park and Historic College Park neighborhoods of Atlanta. Moraima chose this niche intown market as a place to expand her business because of its proximity to her daughter's school and her love of intown living. Moraima remains active in the community as a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., Jack and Jill of America and a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, United Way, Hosea Feed the Hungry and Hands On Atlanta. Moraima's belief in consistently delivering superior homes that express her passion for quality, style and detail in addition to her strong work ethic make her the builder of choice. |
